lindsay and kip, let’s bring the sunshine back!

sunshine!!! come back!!!

i knew i should have knocked on wood when posting the last post :)

although winter is gorgeous, i’m hoping to entice the summer sun back this way.

here are some teasers of the fabulous wedding of lindsay and kip – with their bright, bold colors of green and yellow to sharpen your senses for the morning (and hopefully little miss sunshine will remember that we love her). two of my favourite things from this wedding: the colors and the non-stop smiles and laughs. one of my favourite spots to shoot: a tree with beautiful GREEN HEART shaped leaves that was planted on the day kip was born!!! my heart melts!!!! how perfect. and lindsay, the amazing artist that she is, did almost everything herself. from the yellow lanterns to the hand “yellowed” card cage, to the yellow dance card table name cards, to the table flower arrangements to the hand picked and written laurel leaf name plates… she thought of almost everything to incorporate her beautiful colors into an artistic expression of her most perfect day… all with such amazing attention to detail and immaculate collaboration.

what fun it is reliving that day. gosh i love my job.

with the latest blessing of beautiful sunny weather, i almost worry that if i post photos of this gorgeous couple that the world might remember how beautiful winter can be and the sun will decide to stop shining so brightly…. eek. well here goes, any ways…

back in february i had a great time photographing jonathon and tanya, who will be celebrating their wedding in hawaii next year. because they will be having the tropical warmth for their wedding, they wanted to celebrate the beauty of winters in bc with a session in whistler. we started off at the nita lake lodge for a few elegant whistler spot shots, then we moved over to nicklaus north golf course and around lost lake trails for a few fun and playful shots playing around in the snow. j&t brought a whole bunch of props with them – my favourite was their ukulele and leis in the cold winter snow to bridge the gap between their engagement shoot and their plans for hawaii for their wedding. i thought it was brilliant and cute. we then jumped over to the village to get a few shots of their favourite things to do in whistler – riding the gondola and eating delicious hot dogs.

so cute. so sweet. my new friends are wonderful people that i’m so happy to have met, and i wish them all the best for their wedding planning this year! and i had a fun filled, bundled day that reminded me how beautiful winter is. that being said, i’m REALLY looking forward to summer coming. i’m a bit of a sun baby, i’ll admit that much.

the sun is shining, vancouver is proving (early) to be beautiful once again. it’s that time of the year. the anticipation of summer is what keeps me from getting too down when it rains for the rest of the year. summers in bc are absolutely amazing.

i had the chance to sneak a few amazing shoots in this weekend while the sun shone on the stunning city… a wedding, a pregnancy shoot and a couple portraits of a cute little man named caleb.

i LOVE this shot, from the quick little pregnancy shoot we did at the park. the sun had us both smiling and taking deep deep breaths of fresh air.

while i look forward to the coming months of summer and the weddings, beach lounging, swimming and photos that it will bring… lauren is looking forward to welcoming a sweet little angel into the world… a beautiful girl who will, no doubt, be as beautiful as summer.
